Neesons Presents: Effective Communication with the Hearing Loss Client

Accessibility and inclusion are important to us all. Kim Neeson has created a 1.5 hour program, eligible for 1.5 LSO hours EDI Professionalism Hours, for lawyers, law clerks or staff who interact with the public. Over 10% of Canada's population has a hearing loss of some kind, and the statistics will only rise as the population ages.

hard of hearing

One size does not fit all.

There are many types of hearing loss, from mild to complete deafness. What services each consumer requires will differ. For example, an adult who recently lost their hearing will not be able to use sign language, but will require voice-to-text captioning. This seminar will cover the needs and requirements of all hearing loss individuals, and explore the obligations to provide accommodation under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) in the legal context.
